long does it take to get my website online with

It
may take up to 48 hours for confirmation of your
domain name to be received from the Naming Authority
and your website will not go live until this has

How
do I get all my information onto a website?
You
may input the text for your website and choose the
style you want as soon as you have purchased your
domain name. Please allow 48 hours for your website to appear on the Internet. |

Am
I able to put images on my website?
Yes. If you have an image which you would like to add to your website then our system allows you to load this from your computer. Your image needs to be in .gif, .jpg or .png format. |

Can I upload my own website to my domain?
You are not able to load a site designed by yourself to the netthe.net
site. We do however offer web hosting as an option. This offers 100MB of
space and full ftp access for a very competitive price. We also offer web
forwarding. |

Transferring
your domain to netthe.net what does this
mean?
In
order for netthe.net to build and host your website on our servers we need to have control of your
domain name (n.b. the domain name will still belong
to you). To do this you need to inform the company
that is currently in control of your domain. To
help you we have created a text file (that we will
send to you) that you need to print on to letterheaded
paper, this needs to be faxed to the company that
currently holds your domain name and a copy should
also be faxed to netthe.net (fax: 0845 200 75 21).

The
Internet as we know it today is a large global network
of computers. Originally designed to provide stable
communications during a nuclear war, the 'net was
a network of military bases and universities which
grew beyond its original intention. Today the 'net
is used by people of all countries for business,
leisure, entertainment, anything and everything! |

E-mail
or electronic mail is just that, its an electronic
way of sending text and sometimes files. An email

domain name is an address which lets people find
your site on the Internet. Domain names usually

domain name can include the following characters
1. Characters allowed abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
0123456789 or a hyphen (-)
2. Cannot start or end with a hyphen (-)
3. Length between 2-63 characters
4. 2 characters allowed if 1 letter and 1 number
5. US RULES: length between 2-67 characters including

is Matching Email?
Matching Email is a process which involves forwarding
mail from one address to another, for example say
you have an email account with your ISP, your mail
can be forwarded to a mail address associated with
your domain name eg: yourname@yourcompany.co.uk,
this enhances your corporate identity and streamlines
multiple mail addresses to a single address, Simple!

What is hosting?
When you have a website you need to ensure that it is
available to the world 24hrs a day, to do this you need to have your website located on the netthe.net servers which never switch off, this is called hosting your site. Your netthe.net website will be hosted free of charge. Should you wish to design your own website then you will need
the netthe.net website hosting option. |

What
is a secure server?
A
secure server encrypts the information in your Internet
browser prior to sending it across the Internet.
Only the host site that requested it can decode
the information. In the unlikely event that anyone
intercepts the information as it crosses the Internet,
it would be practically impossible for them to break
the encryption. |

What
is search engine registration?
If you want to increase the amount of people looking at your site you can
submit your web address to a search engine such as www.excite.co.uk. The
search engines locate your site using Meta tags (keywords and description)
specific to your website, then when people search the Internet for these
words your site will appear in the results page. netthe.net allow you to
update these keywords online.
